Drilling and Overflow box
OK I am gonna need some help with this. Is there any good threads with pics etc that can help a nooby out. I have drilled many times before but not like this. Just had a few questions.
1.) Ok so I was planning on making a 1.5" drain so I don't need two. I was gonna drill the 125 right in the middle. Would this be enough since it is a 1.5" which will highly unlikely ever plug? 2.) For the drain I know people love using the stand pipe, but to save room in the tank can't I make one on the outside? this tank is a in wall so I'm not concerned about how the back looks. If I simply have a bare bulkhead inside the overflow box, then on the outside of the tank make a T, have a piece of pipe going up for air and the other side go down to the sump. Would this work the exact same way as a standpipe? 3.) Return I am using a Mag 18 so I should get about 1300gph, I am using the tigerflex piping (basically same as spaflex but much stronger) How is the best method of making the return? go up and over the rim or drill this as well? Thanks

Take a look at glass-holes.com There overflow box kits would work perfect for this application. They have complete kits with drill bit and instruction. Plus customer service is great.
