t-5 question

not to familiar with the t-5 lighting. I am looking into starting up a new tank (40 gal - 36 x 18 x 12 Tall). Was just wondering what people thought about this fixture?

Looking at the 36" fixture. How much better is the t-5 lighting than pc and does anyone have any basic recommendations for me?

Thanks

bad link. T5 is alot better than PC lighting, so long as you have individual parabolic reflectors for each bulb, and they are cooled.

I keep them under 4 t-5's on ic660 ballast in 55g no problem, great color and growth.

You lose alot of light on that fixture as it has only one reflector for all 4 bulbs. There are lots who keep SPS under T5's, with great success- my 120 will be all SPS under T5s. I would look at the Nova Extreme Pros or SLS's at a minimum.
