white splotches on clown fish, not ich

i have a small male black and white clown fish, and i've recently noticed some white splotches on the underside of it's body. it's not ich, the spots are fairly large and only on the bottom of the clown. there is a female as well, and currently they're not hosting in anything. sorry, i tried getting a pic of it but the pic won't come out clear. otherwise it's eating well, any ideas? thanks
