Flasher/Fairy Wrasses vs shrimp?
Hello.
I'm thinking about purchasing a Flasher or Fairy Wrasse. I went over to LiveAquaria to see the compatiblity. Says: "When first introduced into the aquarium, live saltwater feeder shrimp should be used to entice this fish to eat. The Exquisite Wrasse diet should consist of a variety of feeder shrimps, flaked foods, and marine meats. " What the heck is a feeder shrimp? I have 3 shrimp, a blood, a cleaner and pistol. Any problems putting the 4 together? Thanks whirley

they have a clearish shrimp that is 1/2" to 1 1/2" long that you can feed your fish ,they are cheap in comparison to ornimental shrimp but very expensive compared to flake or frozen foods . unfortunatly the shrimp you have may or may not get eaten by the wrasse . i would imagine that you have a good chance of not getting eaten .the fairy wrasse is the one to watch out for ,he may find the shrimp to be very tempting . i have had mixed results with wrasses vs. shrimp but most have disapeared over time ,so dont be suprised when they come up missing . i have some coris wrasses that are probably the shrimp eaters but its expected
