SPS Questio

Can you keep sps under HO t-5 lighting or Just under "halide lighting"?

Many people keep SPS under T-5 lighting. I cannot comment on what type you would need, as I use MH. But, I know you can keep SPS with T5 successfully.

Yup as long as you have enough bulbs. Make sure any T5 setup you go with has individual parabolic reflectors. If it doesn't you will get half the light output and lots of brown corals.

Some 75g t5 sps keepers will have to chime in but most of the time they say "as many fits" in relation to how many you should have.

YES T-5 HO is GREAT for SPS.

I have a small nano (see sig) and I grow very well several SPS, although they are the more hardy types, I have NO doubt that I could grow some of the more light-hungry ones.

Right now I have tortuosa, millepora, monti cap, and hydnophora. I also have a small pile of other LPS and softies... all small frags.

I am running 4X24W over my 10g, which is pretty intense for a small, shallow tank.

Parabolic reflectors are the trick (even though my light does not have them, I didn't know that it had a cheap reflector when I ordered it).

Personally I like the TEK lights and wish I had gotten one of those instead.

I have 8 T5's over a 120G display, I actually moved to them from 150W Halides's.. All my SPS are doing better under the T5's
