Aquarium books

I'm in the process of updating the library for the Boston Reefers Society.

I was wondering what are the best books for advanced reefing?

Thanks for your help

+3 for Borneman, +1 for Calfo. Are you looking just for corals or also for reef fish?

I'm currently reading Corals by Borneman too and it is by far the best aquarium book I have ever read. It is very in depth and informative and changed alot of the ways I approached things with my tank. Overall a very good book and worth getting.

Another good book, although a photography and not an informative book on reef keeping, is Reef. It has some amazing photographs.

I really like Borneman's book on corals, Calfo's Book of Coral Propagation, and Tulluck's Natural Reef Aquariums.

I'll step in Jay Hemdal, his Advanced Marine Aquarium Techniques is a must-have for your purposes. I would also consider acquiring (and hereafter adding to) the complete set of Calfo's journals.

If you're looking for more advanced info about setup, equipment and Chemistry, Reef Aquarium Vol. 3 by Delbeek and Sprung. By far the best, most up to date, non-livestock oriented book available.

A little off the beaten track, but I'd recommend the Plankton Culture Manual by Frank H. Hoff. Also, Clownfishes by Joyce D. Wilkerson is a very good book for anyone thinking about breeding (or even just keeping) clownfish.

Lastly, I haven't quite convinced myself to fork over the money for these, but I've heard great things about this series: Corals of the World, Vol. 1, 2, 3 by J. E. N. Veron. Amazon sells the three volumes for $160. It goes indepth into the taxonomy of corals, so probably not for the casual reader.

The entire series is a must, but the third volume is by far the most read of my marine library.
