I've had this 25 gal set up little over 2 years now. Purchased it set up was a mess. added a 130 watt power compact actinate / white light pluss moon lights. added aboit 5 lbs live rock for about total of 20 lbs give or take . Running a Rena/Cal Filstar # 4 canister filter filters 250 gph. 2 power heads they move 400 gpmh each . i have been changing carbon and ading phospure every 2 weeks for the algie on my sand do't see any improvement . Only when I siphone it off. have 0.25 amonia every one in a while. Can't move power heads much seem to have movement every where. Have one small perc clown 2 small yellow tail damsels one small schromis. do 5 gal waer change every 2 weeks cal 400 no nitrite no nitrate phosphate tests neg usu RO/DI . So here problems lose fish every so often lose crabs and snails. mushrooms doing good corals good too. Maybe I'm doing ok and don't realize it.

What livestock have you lost and over what period of time?

In one of my nano's I had a problem with fish totally missing.... I finally caught my Brittle star fish catching the fish at night and then eating them.

In my 24gallon I change about 2 gallons of water every two to three weeks. My carbon gets changed when I remember (maybe every couple of months). The sponge filters in the back get rinsed out when I do a water change.

I would say stop adding the Phospure, get some more live rock, add a lot of snails to keep it clean and maybe get rid of one of the powerheads..... I have a koralia 1 in my 24g and its plenty.

Can you get your hands on a TDS meter to check the RO/DI? When were the filters last changed?

Here's why I ask...http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/sh...readid=1552144

That seems like a lot of fish turnover. Are you using a QT? Are you deworming your new fish as part of the QT and acclimation process?
