Plumbing Question
Can pvc primer and cement be used on braided vinyl hose? (I would like to use a "slip" gate valve between skimmer and a new more powerful pump). I have plenty of braided vinyl and prefer it over spa flex.

No, you would need to go to a hose barb and then you could use an adapter to get to a slip fitting or just use a hose barb and then a threaded gate valve.

Thanks. I guess I'll just pick up a threaded gate valve and a couple of hose clamps to simplify things.
