So I'm thinking of buying the aquac ev 180

I have a few questions though. I was wanting to know if when running this externally if I could return the water to the sump via flexible hosing that will poor directly into the sump without any drilling with bulkheads. Thanks alot!

Yes , you can. I would install a T fitting before the spa flex, and run a section of PVC up in the air to allow it to breath better, as well as act as a siphon break.
