Red face $3 fix for the BC skimmer!!!

I think a found a cheap solution for everyone that purchased the BC skimmer. Below are pictures of what I used to solve the problem of my BC skimmer on my 29. Through a lot of frustration I figured out that the factory check valves are toooo restrictive - not allowing enough air to pass. Get a new check valve, tune it up, and it works! You still have to be aware of the water level, but I empty my cup every other day and it is full of nice green/brown junk!!

I bought a Lee's valve - notice it is a spring type.

IT WORKS!!

Over time check valves lose flow so keep an eye on that. Do you really need one with that skimmer's design...
