light schedule question

I was running 3 250 watt radium SE 20k's over my 150 gallon reef with no supplemental lighting. I liked the look, but the growth wasn't there. To increase par, I have purchased XM 10k lights for the halides, and a retro fit for some t5s with actinics. I ran my halides for eight hours a day and my fuge on an opposite lighting schedule. My question is this: Obviously I will light acclimate appropriately, but once this is done, what would be a good lighting schedule for the new arrangement?

A lot of people like to use the actinics an hour or two before and after halides for the more gradual lighting change, a good example http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2008-11/totm/index.php
