Featherduster Question
i got three featherdusters the other day and i put on here that one of them lost his plume. well last night he jumped out of his tube.
i know that they can make a new tube and grow their plume back. the question is - - - - - should i leave the worm in the 28 gallon tank for this process or should i take the worm out and put in qt tank???? does the worm emit anything bad during this process??? thanks!!!! |

I've been through a few feather dusters and have watched them grow their crown back after they had lost them. But when they crawl out of their tube, its pretty much over. They can make a tube within a couple days. I bought one from my LFS that was adhered to the bottom surface of the tank and had ripped its tube in the process of getting it out. By the time I got him home, he was 80% out of the tube. I put him in the sand and within a day or so, he was retracting out of harms way in no time.
Good luck

the end has come for that guy!
i got home from work today and he was a gonner when i scooped him out with the net, it got ugly for a second! i checked all my params: 79 degrees 1.026 8.3ph amm 0 nitri 0 nitra 0 phos 0 cal 520 ( a little high and i stopped dosing last week) kh 12 so i think my params look pretty good, got the skimmer going. oh, i spot fed my other two feathers and my GSP some cyclo ---peez, that was pretty cool! the shrimp loved it too! |
