Fluffy Red Algae

Anyone had this type of algae in their tank before:

If so, is there anything that will eat it?

Pink Cotton Candy algae. Mexican turbo snails eat it.

There must be another way of getting rid of this? It must be feeding on something ie. phosphates, nitrates? I've got this crap and don't get mixicain turbos in Nz, anybody had any other success removing this?

I have it and this stuff is hard to get rid of. It is mostly pick it out . Turbos do eat it but they cannot get to where this stuff grows (in between corals) especially between my hammers. I pick it out as much as possible but have yet to beat it. From what I have read my water is too clean LOL.

I have this stuff. Lots. No luck getting rid of it yet. Picking out what I can, trying lights out right now, but that doesn't seem to be making much difference. I tried chemiclean...no help. Added a phosban reactor. Not helping yet. Done some big water changes. I think maybe I have a little less than before, but not sure.

It is incredibly easy to kill, one peroxide treatment and its gone. Go to nanos forum here, front page, pico reef pest algae problem challenge read the thread problem solved. It does not require measurable nutrients to thrive, don't try and starve it. This is an obligate hitchhiker, so you can't beat using peroxide to kill it if you really want it gone. If you want to use natural means and continue to let it exist that's fine too.

Once killed with peroxide, it won't come back unless reimported
