well i got pods and....something else strange going on

got everything from the 20 that started to leak over to 30 sunday. The water has cleared up from transferring everything. Unfortunately i don't think the two hermits made it, cant find them anywhere. The 4 astreas seem happy. Anyways though woke up to find pods all over the place which is great news, i never noticed a single one in the 3weeks that the 20 was up. Today they are all over the glass and everywhere.

Problem is i've got white particulate floating around everywhere still. It doesn't seem to be clearing up at all. Any ideas on what might be the cause of this? provided my PH, Nitrites/ates and ammonia are all in line do you think its safe to finally start adding some fish?

Was going to start with either a sixline wrasse or a pair of clowns.

six line wrasse can be very territorial and most likely not a good choice to be in there alone. Mine will harrass any new fish his size or smaller. Tormented a long nose hawk so much he would go over the overflow and into the sump. Finally had to trade the hawk in as I couldn't catch the six line to remove him instead.

Not yet on the fish: if you've got loose sand blowing around, it hasn't gotten its bacterial coating yet: I wouldn't push the tank quite yet: let the algae grow and let the cleanup crew do its work. Get your fish and put them into 2 weeks of quarantine, in a barren glass tank, to be sure they have no parasites.

sounds like this will be turning into a 1.5 month ordeal before i get to add fish eh....

as far as the sixline being territorial here is the fish list.

Dwarf lion
sixline
pair of clowns or some other colorful open water sort of fish

option 2
dwarf lion
snowflake eel
yellow tail damsel or something like that

Tank has got be taken down come graduation in december no matter what, so i will be upgrading to a bigger tank or rehoming everyone and taking a break from the hobby after college.

Got any live rock in there? If so, there are a number of starter cultures that I've used with good success that cycle the tank in days. Could save you some time.

Sk8r,

Do you only do a 2 week QT? I thought 4 or even 6 weeks was standard. Or are you reccomending 2 weeks because there is nothing else in the tank?

Thanks.
