Is this Aiptasia? Can I just remove them with my hand from the tank?

Hi I just take a picture of my tank to show what I believe is the Aiptasia. My question is: Can I just use my hand to remove them from the LR?

I bought this tank used (stocked with fish and LR/LS) and am currently trying to do a "clean up" of the tank.

Thanks

DD

you can try to remove with your hand but unless its on the glass theyll just suck up in the rock.

Yes it is aiptasia. It is impossible to remove by hand if it is on the LR(like Flavum Stated). If you try it will most likely cause it to spread. You should use one of the products made to get rid of it . IE- aiptasia X , joes juice or kalk paiste are some of the better ways to go. Good luck .

I'd suggest doing it fast.....before you know it they will spread to every rock in your tank

DD, I just rectified my Aiptasia issue by taking the coral out and squirting hot water and a chem marine anit-aiptasia formula on the area where the aiptasia was hiding. Then, I chipped off most of the bottom piece of the rock where the aiptasia resides and squirted more.

Place the coral in a seperate container with tank water for a few hrs then placed it back in my tank.
