I switched to it on my established tank.
It threw the tank for a loop, now I'm fighting green hair algae. Never had it before. |

Lost of reporst done on it. Almost worthless. I switched my eco system sump to Carib Sea mineral mud. Much better tank conditions.

I prefer Kent's BioSubstrate. Tried a couple gallons of Miracle Mud but switched about 5 years back. never had problems. Running a mixed reef w/out skimmer and a fuge instead with the biosubstrate. healthy refuguim.

Expensive dirt and doesn't perform as advertised. I put a live sand bed over it in my refugium. You should still skim no matter what is in your refugium.

I was really interested in it a few years back. The more extravagant the name, usually the worse a product is. Look at DSBs they will give you better results.

It was proven to be nothing more than midwest soil.

but thank you for your advice I only stated it to make a point that the Kent biosubstrate does a good job on the tank, able to handle a mixed reef and light load by itself. Let's keep this thread on track |
