how do i seed a tank with live sand and regular?
i just bought 20lbs of bio-active live aragonite sand and 20 lbs of regular dry substrate...whats the best way to seed the tank...should i mix them together???? or should i lay one on top of the other?? if so which on bottom and which on top?

Not sure if it matters, but I would put the dry substrate down first then topcoat with the live aragonite. In a few months all will be live.

Be sure to rinse that dry sand really well before putting it in the tank - it helps cut down on thed cloudiness.

as long as the sand isn't going to be over 3" or so, it doesn't matter how/if you mix it.
