RODI - when to change membrane, resin or catridge
Is there an easier way to tell if I need to change the membrane, resin or cartidge of an RODI unit without a TDS meter or pressure guage? Maybe by its color or how much is left?
This is the RODI unit I have: Bulk Reef RODI |

I change mine every 6 months (cartridges) and my mebrane every year to year and a half. It really depends on the quality of the water source, how fast you will got through them. I think some tds meters are fairly inexpensive and well worth it, if it saves you from replacing the cartridges prematurely. Kind of pays for itself in time.

Walgreens carries TDS meters next to their Brita Water pitchers. I believe they're under $15.00 .
It doesn't need to be the most accurate meter as your mainly looking for a large drop from the tap to the rodi water. |
