Looking at getting this light for our 75 Gallon.
http://www.catalinaaquarium.com/prod...oducts_id=1629 Would it be sufficient, able to keep nems, clams, sps? Anyone have one, know anything about them? Do they put the shimmer in the water they way the claim, etc... Thanks in advance for any responses.

I'm not familiar with that particular fixture but as far as t5's and clams I can help a little. I'm at present running eight 39 w T-5's on my 90, which is 24" deep, and have 3 clams in it. The Squamus does real well sitting on the substrate but I had to move my two Croceas up higher on the reef due to them fading a little. Since I moved them they have returned to their original color.

Thats a nice looking fixture,I guess they beat Aquatinics to the punch on the T5 and LED combo fixtures. The only thing I would be concerned with is wether or not it has individual reflectors for the T5's and cooling for them as well. If you get it let us all know how you do with it.

When you say cooling for them, what kind of temperature do t5's usually run at? I have heard they are cooler than VHO is that correct?

To get the most output out of the bulbs, cooling them is needed.

Asked about reflectors here is the answer I got.
"each reflector is bent for each bulb out of one sheet of German polished aluminum same as tec light"
