Feeding and skimmer, what the.
Well all my lasts skimmer skimmer 24/7 even with feeding.
Now, I bought an Vertex 250 and each time I feed, it won't skim for at least 5 hours. I normally feed 1-2 times a day (got anthias and lots of fish) and if I do, I loose 20% of skimmer time at least, more if I feed twice. Anything that could change that?

Did you change food or add selcon?
Its the oils in food that change the skimmers abilty to skim.

my ev-180 won't skim for up to an hour or so after feeding, but if I rinse the food before feeding it helps a lot to speed up the process, and try not to add any additives like selcon or zoe if possible

I normally take 1-2 cube and put some pellet in it with tank water and dump it in.
I use cycloeeze sometime so rinsing is not possible with this. I'll try to get a brine shrimp net to rince the food
