A Huge, Huge Thank You!!!

I want to thank everyone who has helped me over the last few months. With your help I have avoided buying fish and coral that don't suit my tank! I have learned the importance of drip acclimation, temperature, lighting, and so many other things.

For those of you who helped me with my nitrates/dead flow area you have helped bring my nitrates down to 0 for the first time EVER!!! They were normally around 40 to 60 and I didn't know why.

My leather toadstool is now doing well, my clown fish is fine and those tiny little bug things turned out to be amphipods, so that's good too!!!

I now know how to test for Alk and why it's important; I know how to mix salt and how to test its density and which animals like which density......

So thank you everyone!!!
If it hadn't been for all of you I wouldn't have lasted this long in this difficult and sometimes frustrating hobby. Instead, my husband and I are planning on getting a MUCH bigger tank - when we can afford it (may have to start selling my organs....)!!!

I couldn't agree with your sentiments more!
I tell my wife that my time on this site is research because they don't make a Consumer Reports for saltwater tanks! No she doesn't buy.
Nice post.

How much do you sell your liver? Have you been drinking during your life or even been alcoholic?

True, sometimes the cost is too much. I've been buying piece by piece for almost a year and haven't started yet. Hopefully by the summer I'll have everything I need.

I'm waiting until i get my next coral and fish arrivals before I post more piccies.

I have ordered what I want from my lfs, instead of just taking whatever they might have and "recommend".......

My last two fish (tank way too small) will be a 6-line wrasse and an orange-spotted blennie and the coral i have ordered is a mushroom polyp........not having much luck with the lfs though. I think, he thinks, that I will cave and just buy what he has in stock - not gonna happen; this hobby has given me a severe backbone!!!

I'd like to get another shrimp too but I have to find out what is killing my shrimp and crabs first.....could have been the high nitrates but I want to rule out copper too. I used to use the tank for keeping goldfish and every time I bought a new one I would add an anti-stress/disease liquid. It is supposed to be just plants but you never know. So I will rule out copper at the weekend and take it from there.

Tim, as soon as I have something new I will post the pics. Promise!!
