Pictures of your candy cane coral please
I have a frag....well its about 8 heads now, of green candy cane. The tentacles are always out and I was wondering if that is normal. It looks healthy and I don't see any problems with it at all. The tentacles are not out like they are when the lights are out by any means but they are out some. I just want to make sure that this is how it should be. One last question, should this thing be in low flow, high flow, medium flow and is it bad that I have it in the substrate?

Have you tried feeding it? I feed mine once a week by squirting some thawed mysis shrimp at it with a turkey baster. I keep mine wedged in some rocks with medium flow.

Mine is under low flow. I prefer to mount my frags to a substantial piece of live rock. The tentacles can get heavy causing it to fall over.

I've had this colony almost 5 years and the polyps are open all the time as well:
It gets what most consider low flow. I think they do better up off the substrate with a gentle flow all around them.

Ok, so I take it I'm worrying about nothing.

Beautiful pics! Mine will extend tentacles if I feed during the day, but not nearly as far as they do after the lights go out.
