New OCEANIC 50

Today was the day. Tore down my 37 and replaced it with a 50. This is going to house primarily bta's and a pair of breeding ocellaris. Thought I'd share so here it is.

It will sit on an anitque ice box in my kitchen.

Added live sand, yikes, reflecting a mess!

The hardest part, aquascaping, not sure if we got it perfect, some tweeking needed.

And we have water.

Lights, the nylon stocking is filled with live rock from old tank to be removed later. And there you have it.

Temporary home to fish and anemones. The new spllit is towards the bottom.

fun day, I am very tired but satisfied.

And you should know, I am very appreciative for all the help. I didn't post the one with your face, so no one will know it's you.
Clearing up nicely, by tomorrow should be crystal.
Sam's right you are the bomb!

Nice tank. I bet that's just perfect for a single 250w sunpod.

What skimmer is that?

I LOVE THAT SIZE. I too have a 37 that already seems too cramped. If I wouldn't have just purchased a TEK T5 fixture for it I would seriously consider the upgrade. Can't wait to see how it turns out.

It's a Tunze nano skimmer. I have had skimmer issues in the past. So far so good, from what I hear is a pretty good skimmer. (got it form Mr. Kaboom) I really like the small size and the fact that it is in my back chamber, can barley see it.

I loved my 37, what prompted the upgrade was a scratch issue. I have literally hundreds of tiny scratches on the inside. I must have gotten sand on my magnafloat. It's wierd this has not been a problem in any of my other tanks. The lighting has made a big difference too, from 150 viper to a 250 sunpod. The extra room will be much appreciated by my ever expanding colony of bta's which is 10 at last count all but 1 are clones of an origonal. I am anxious to get them in, thinking it's going to be while.
