GPH on powerhead
How does the gph for powerhead work? I have 2 koralia 3 for my 72 gallon. The gph on it is 850 gallon. So I was wondering what gph I would need or my 440 gallon

You're gonna need at least 20x turnover in your tank. Some of that comes from the sump. Say your return pump accounts for 5x (440 times 5 is 2200) total turnover. That leaves you with an additional 15x to get to the full, minimum 20x turnover. 440 multiplied by 15 equals 6600 gph. 2200 plus 6600 equals 8800 gph total turnover (or 20 times total turnover) That's really all there is to it. Hopefully that's what you were asking?

Get a couple K8's and you'll be amazed. These things flow like crazy! I have 1 in my 380g along with a K4 and have plenty. It is an 8' tank flowing all the way across.

Yes, the new Koralia Magnums. The K8 is ~3200gph. It is a good wide flow pattern as well.
