Which Skimmer?
Im considering these 2 skimmers:
AquaC Remora w/ MaxiJet 1200 (hang on) or the new sapphire NC28 which supposed to fit main chamber on my JBJ 28g nano which skimmer is better? |

Not sure about the 2nd one. Everyone here seems to say the Remora is great...
I worry about the noise from it though. I have heard its very noisy, but very effective. Any truth to that statement? If it is noisy- is there a way to quiet it down? |

I have the Remora. And yes it's noisy, but a powerhouse. Works great if you can get past the noise. I have it on a very lightly stocked 20 gal (3 fish and 1 mantis), along with about 20 pounds of sand and 30 pounds of LF. Often I look at it and I don't see it pulling anything out. But give it a day and there is gunk in the collection cup.

My Remora works great on my JBJ 28 HQI, but it is noisy! I plan on switching to a Tunze DOC 9005 in a sump soon (I have concerns that ultimately the Tunze DOC 9002 might be a little small although others seem to think it works well on their JBJ 28) in hopes to quiet the tank down some. Check out the JBJ 28 forum in the Nanotank forum, there is a lot of info there.
