Calcium Reactor/Ph probe questions

hey everyone bought some new goodies so I was wondering if you could lead me in the right way.......

equipment is a millwalkie*lol spelling? i dont have it on hand at the moment ph probe and a coralife cal reactor tied together....

the first question is will a standard co2 tank from a paintball gun work? it fits the the valves fitting.....

what solution should I calibrate the probe with 7 or 10

what is a good media to use in the reactor

TIA and Im a total noob to a cal. reactor.....I had one a long time ago but never put it together was to complicated

As I understand it you should not use a paintball co2 can because there is oil inside the cannister.

I like the sachuran media.

It should be calibrated with both I think ?

Yeah, both. Use the large grain media, schuran or even the Gen-x knock off stuff works quite well. Carib Sea has a large grain that is almost identical too.

Good luck... And if you are in the City, CeeKay welding supply is the place for Co2 whether small or large bottles.

Ideally you would want to calibrate with ph4 and 7 as that is between your actual measuring point of 6-6.5, usually. That will give you the most accurate calibration. If it is for tank water it would then be 7 and 10 as your target is about 8 - 8.3. Just my two cents, which is probably worth even less
