I'm not an expert but I have a couple of mushroom, and they move to the higher spot they could go. But I don't have the most powerful setup either so I'm not sure if I had MH it would be the same thing ...

True, most mushrooms require very little light to thrive.
What kind of shrooms do you have? And what knid of lighting do you have?

Not really IME. Sooner or later they will adapt and begin multiplying at an alarming rate.

Mushrooms can take lots or little light. It doesn't usually matter to them.

Won't a mushroom move to where they want to go. At least in my tank that is the case.

While they can handle alot of light, they will look better (or at least get bigger) if kept in the darker areas of your tank. I have MH lighting, and the couple I have high in the tank in direct light are much smaller and don't have as much color as the mushrooms in the "shade". If you don't have MH lighting, they can probably take direct light anywhere in the tank.

My mushrooms expand with lower light and contract with higher lights. With lower lights they look better cause they're bigger.

I have shrooms in ALL areas of my tank and the ones closest to the top are the largest by far. They do only require moderate lighting though. When I first started, I had a 10 gallon with only the standard lighting fixture and they did fine.

Just don't worry about that. If their don't like the place and it will move.
