Piping Question.
i recently finished plumbing a 29g tank wth a 20 g sump
after alot of experimenting ive come up with a solution to get the water to the sump from the durso stand pipes without bubbles mixed in them...so that the water gets to the sump bubble free thus avoiding salt creep...and bubble noise. as far as that goes i am happy but i have not managed to get rid of the trickling noise if the water in the piping. it is distracting now that all else is dead silent. the piping is 1" does anyone have any experience with how to fix this? i can hear the water hitting the elbows and the walls of the pipes and its really annoying.

I think your trying to put too much of your tank volume thru the sump.

well i have a return pump quietone 3000 and at 6 feet of head pressure the thing only shoots out 450gph...trough 5 exit holes...its around 100gh or whatever ....
i dont think 450gph is too much to handle for 2 1'standpipes ....is it?

You could try insulating the pipe with foam insulation (they sell it cheap at Home Depot), it will quiet the noise down, although not completely eliminate it. You may not have enough room in all locations for the insulation, but you can cut and shape it to cover as much of the pipe as possible.
