Skimmer question
I just read
http://web.archive.org/web/200103090...skimmers2.html to try and understand skimmers better and I had some questions l was hoping you guys could help me with or elaborate on. In the article, it says that most organic molecules can be removed by a skimmer. What I was wondering is what is ''most''. (51% or 99%) Are there any molecules that come fom fish food that can not be removed by a skimmer or processed by bacteria? This might be a stupid question, but if I were to plug the worlds most powerfull skimmer on a fish tank that had a small skimmer on it, how much skimmate could the worlds most powerfull skimmer create? In oher words, how much more efficient would a skimmer with a long air/water contact time be over a skimmer with a short air/water contact time? I deally, I guess you would want one of each? An other possibly stupid question: what % of an average aquarium water is made of skimmable organic mateirals? |
