lighting a 7ft tank
Well i am setting up a 265 gallon tank it is 7ft long 2ft wide and 30in tall. The tank will house softys and LPS it has two braces on the top so that gives me three openings in the top. I was thinking either 12 to 16 36" T5 lights or 3 halides supplimented with T5. What do yall would think the best decision would be and why? Also what bulbs should i use?
Thanks, TX

3x 250w 20k radiums with a luminarc or lumenmax reflectors. T5 or VHO super actinic supplements.

I would say the 3 250 watt halides in good reflectors would be a good start, if you don't like the color of randiums there are lots of other good bulbs. If you did this, with say 8 3 foot T5 actinics to supplement it, you should be good to go on lighting.
