Heater placement
Where would be the best area to place a heater in my 70 gallon tank?
In the sump or in the display tank? Any recommendations on a great heater? |

+1 on the sump, there must be something better to look at in your display!

Also a good idea to go with two smaller heaters than 1 large---in case there is trouble with one of them you want it small enough not to cause too much problems if it overheats or sticks on, and have a back up if one decides to fail.IMHO

I would split your heating needs between two smaller heaters. Place one in the sump and one in the DT.

Also note, not all heaters are fully submersible, but some are.
2 instead of 1 is a good idea for several reasons. |
