Center Overflow Question
Hello all!
Is there a thread or article somewhere that describes how a center overflow works??? I'm a bit confused as to how water could be overflowing into the box yet be returning through the same box. Seems as if total turnover rate would be very slow as the drain and return flows combine together and thrash about in the overflow box.... But I'm sure I'm missing something!!!!! |

Same as any internal overflow, There is separate plumbing inside the box for drain and return.

as i thought.
so does the plumbing for the return need to hang over the edge of the box so that the return flow is being dumped outside of the box?? if not, wouldnt the retunr flow just be dumped right back into the overflow box only to be drained once again?? are there any illustrations as to how this would work?? |

Yes, the return plumbing needs to be directed away from the overflow a bit. It could hang over it or stick out the side. Again, nothing really different from a standard internal overflow.
I did a google search but didn't find any diagrams. I'm sure they are out there.
