Overflow sounded like a toilet

My newly installed 300 gph Eshopps single overflow box sounded like a toilet. I found a DIY design to build for less than 3 bucks!! I built it and tried it out yesterday, AMAZING..... silent, with just a slight sound of flowing water... anyone interested in design?
