Peppermint shrimp have been known to pick at corals. Your only option is to remove the shrimp, do you have a fuge they can go in?

I just read your sig.. I dont think a 70watt bulb would be strong enough for a clam. ypu also mention you "just built" how old is this tank?

Hope for the best and pray it lives to see tomorrow.

If and when it dies, make sure you remove it before you get a sudden spike of nitrates. I don't think your shrimp will eat it that fast.

Shrimps pick on everything, clams frequently. But they don't attack it intentionally unless it senses something is dead. They are scavengers not predators.

I've never seen them attack in packs before... unless it's aptasia! Even so, it's rare to see them eat that.

I pulled them into the back chamber of the cube. blocked them between two filter chambers to prevent being sucked in the return pump. The clam is till looks bad
