5 hours MH combined with 9 hours T5 ?
Does any of you know how this will work?
I got 230 g. tank: 64" x 32" x 28" (hight) I am wondering if it is possible to turn on two 400 w MH for a short period at only 5 hours a day as there is no need to turn it on when im not home. But how many hours shoud the T5 be turned on and how many watt do I need? |

Yes you can go 5-6 hrs of MH. Many reefers do that. T5s are really used in conjunction for ascetics. You dont need to run them for a long period. You can turn them on for an hour before and and hour after. You could use T5 or VHO. I removed all of my supplemental lighting and now just use MH, I set the timer so they turn on and off in 15 min increments from one another.
My setup today: MH#1 On @ 11:00am MH#2 On @ 11:15am MH#3 On @ 11:30am MH#1 Off @ 8:00pm MH#2 Off @ 8:15pm MH#3 Off @ 8:30pm
