MH Mogul Wiring

I just rewired my MH mogul and I want to make sure that I did it correctly. The black (hot) wire goes to the tab, and the white (neutral) wire goes to the threads, correct?

when i wired my retro kit MH setup the moguls i used just had 2 white wires from them . but yes if you have a black that would be you (hot) and the white(neutral)
normaly that shouldn't matter with light bulbs, light switches yes you have a black and white wire.
is this a retro kit or fixture also?
like cashyboy said there are different moguls that may require different wireing.

It's just the whip coming off of the mogul. It originally came with 6" of black wire and white wire, but I didn't make note of which terminal posts they were connected to. One terminal post is attached to the center tab of the mogul, and one is attached to the threads of the mogul. I would assume that it is the same as wiring a home light socket, but after I unhooked it, I started 2nd guessing myself.

Here's a picture of a home light socket to give you a better idea of what I'm talking about. I just didn't know if it was different for MH moguls...

I think I may have found the answer. I did some Google searches and found that E-Ballasts don't care about polarity. If that's the case it doesn't matter how the two wires connect to the mogul. Can anyone confirm this? I'm using the Coralvue 400w Dimmable E-Ballasts.

BTW... to clarify my original post, when I stated "mogul", I was referring to the mogul socket.

Hot goes to the tab, neutral to the shell.

Ok, I checked a friend's E-Ballast today, and it appears that polarity does NOT matter with E-Ballasts. He's using the ARO brand, and both wires coming out of the ballast going to the mogul are the same color, so that tells me that it doesn't matter which wire is wired to the black wire of the mogul.

I'm still going to wire my mogul with the black wire to the tab since I don't know if this holds true for all ballasts. Who knows, one day I may want to switch ballasts, and I don't want to have to remember to check if the mogul is wired correctly.
