Talking LAK's 15g Cube

Just setting up the thread, and posting some initial pictures. I'll be fixing up the tank and making some modifications here and there before she sets it up. If you have any questions about any of the modifications, I'll chime in... but other than that am going to try and stay out of the conversation... after all, it's her tank.

Most of the standard equipment will be getting replaced, but here are some of the initial shots so you can get an idea of what the setup looks like.

Livestock standing by in my frag tank for the time being:

- 2 Tank Bred Bangai Cardinals
- Orange/Red Acans (not pictured)

Too early to call. I know a few people with PAR meters, so I'll do some testing... then make a decision based on the readings. It's probably going to be difficult to get a nice color combination which can maintain the higher light demanding corals, as well showcase their colors. It's one thing to be able to "keep" corals... it's certainly another to "display" them.

At least that is how I look at it... I personally lean towards the latter.

Thanks for tagging along everyone!! I'm really looking forward to getting this started!

It's looking like TJ is finishing up transfering all of the coral over to his new tank. Whenever that is over, he can start the mods to my tank so that we can get this thing up and running.

If I can get everything finished on the Rimless Tank today, I'm going to attempt to start on the design for the new false wall tonight.

Here is sort of what I have bouncing around in my head right now, but am just not sure how the final layout is going to look. Anyway, just a preliminary sketch.

Hey TJ I am kinda seeing what you are doing with this., but a little confused. Is the section on the right a skimmer? Obviously the one on the left is a fuge and the center is a return chamber.

^^^ correct.

Carbon... no skimmer on this tank. I actually had a crazy idea on the way to Lowes today, and have a new plan.
