Ambient Temp Sensor for AC3?
I was curious if anyone has attached an ambient (room) temperature sensor to their AC3? I have a potential use case where the AC3 would turn my fans off when the tank temp has reached the ambient temp.
I only run fans (4 80mm PC fans in my canopy) and don't use a chiller, so the coolest my water temp can be is the current room temp, plus maybe a few tenths of a degree from heating from my pumps. I currently have the AC3 shut-off my fans when the water temp drops below 78.5F, which works fine. But depending on the time of year, the ambient temp can vary, so I thought I could fine tune the fan turn on/off times even more with an ambient temp sensor. Of course, in the dead of winter, I would never want the water temp to get down to 68F, so my heaters would still eventually come on. Nothing earth shattering, but I thought it'd be cool to do. :-) |

Sure you can use the temperature probe measure the air temp. Most use a secondary temperature probe on a PX 1000 to control the air temp.
