Help me figure out a U tube mystery

That is U tube, and not youtube

I have had my 55g setup for a little over two years. It has an overflow box with a youtube and flexihose plumbing.

Only in the last few months has the U tube not been pulling as much water as normal. The weir fills up and the overflow box only pulls a little bit of water instead of what it used to.

We've taken it down, cleaned everything out, adjusted the levels, pretty much everything we can think of. Does anyone know what might do this? Please feel free to ask me questions too because its a little difficult to describe in detail when I'm not sure what exactly it is I'm looking for to fix.

Did you put it back in the right way after cleaning it? One side of the tube is a little longer than the other. If you have the longer side in the skimmer box it is in the wrong way. The longer side goes in the outside box....

You know what, never let your spouse put the utube back in!! Thank you so much its been a mystery to me but my husband was out of the house and it was driving me nuts and I so forgot to check for that!!!

Now that I set the siphon without an air bubble, still not a pro at that - hence my husband getting the nasty job, its all better now thanks for the super quick fix!!

Current Tank Info: I find it odd that there are children starving in this country and yet we euthanize millions of stray dogs and cats every year and then incinerate the bodies. Not only that, but we make it illegal to butcher the meat. -MarkS
