Return pump/HOB overflow question
I just installed a Mag5 return pump in my sump. It's replacing a Quietone 1200 which was wearing out. I'm a little worried that there may be too much flow through my HOB overflow. With the old pump, the water level in the overflow box was about halfway to the top. With this new pump it's almost right at the top. I don't know what my overflow is rated for.
The good thing is that there no longer appears to be air bubbles getting trapped in the U-tube. But should that water level be something to be concerned about? Should I put a valve on the Mag to throttle back the flow a bit? Thanks! |

I would put a valve on it. I Have a mag 9.5 on my 46gal with a 600gal overflow throttle back half way flow is just right.Just make sure you can disconect so you can remove pump for cleaning

Oy. That's going to be some work. I can do it...
Don't these things kind of slow up a bit once they've been broken in? |
