what kind of special maintenance goes into having a mixed reef?? anything different than say just having a lps/softie or sps tank?

You have to run a tank with pristine water, but still be able to do alot of feeding. On my 225g I run a Deltec AP702 skimmer, Deltec PF601S Calcium reactor, Deltec fluidized reactor which I run Rowaphos in, Ozone, UV and a refugium.
I believe this is why I'm able to keep and grow lots of sps.lps, zoos, mushrooms and still house 30-35 fish.
Weekly 10-15% w/c's

Well, thats a whole different story. Thats why all of my acans are in my 65g
He loves all the expensive lps. Acans and scloymias are his favorite.
Other than that, he tends to leave alone. He will nip on the new buds of certain sps but I can handle that. He would have to eat everything before I got rid of him.

here's mine:



This is mixed 120g with soft, SPS, LSP corals and of course fishes.
It also has crabs, snails and shrimps in it.
