QT filtration

Hi everyone

has anyone used just a pad such as the PURA Total fltration pad for a QT. Apperently the biological filtration in hyposalinity does goes in some king of dormancy according to some experts. So I would stick a pad in a canister filter and that should do the trick, right?

The PURA pad says it removes : solids, organics, ammonia, phosphates, medication, lead, copper, silicates. seems pretty good to me what do you think?

A wine barrel with a few golfish will equal itself out in time. Maybe a few water changes from the hose every so often?
