let me know if Scott passes. I've got a spot down at the bottom. Do you thing it will stay put? If they are like the minis I think it would be fine.

minis move around and maxis tend to stay put. Both prefer areas of surging water motion and bright lighting. I don't believe this anemone would like a bottom location, cap. This particular specimen was very high up on my rockwork and hasn't moved since I placed it in that spot when we moved here four years ago (!).

Scott YGPM regarding this anemone.
FWIW maxis don't reproduce (split) prolifically like the minis.

Can't tell by the pic but does it have as much color as one of the ones you posted a year or so ago did? If so, I'm interested.

regarding the picture of this anemone

pic was taken in my sump using camera flash ONLY. (No halides, VHO's or other supplemental lighting.) There's a slight reflection off the water's surface visible in the pic. Every anemone has a variation in coloration. I feel it's a very accurate picture as far as how this anemone would appear in natural daylight.
These anemones do not host Clownfish.

Dang! let me know when you've got another and I'll take it for sure. Did one split finally or was this just one of the ones you had?

maxi minis don't split as often as the little ones. This is one that I had.

Gary,

Have you heard of any of the maxi-mini's splitting naturally? I don't think that I have...

I've never heard of a maxi splitting on it's own. This makes them all the more difficult to obtain
