If you are referring to turbastrea or dendrophyllia, good luck. They need to be kept in the dark, fed daily, and proper flow. In addition, if they havent been feeding, they are too weak to feed, wont feed, get weaker, etc. I tried hours a day for months to get mine healthy with no results. Any light and excessive feeding promotes algae growth which eventually kills it. Expert only, but good luck. I had none and it wasnt from a lack of trying!

and each polyp head needs to be fed or that one will die. They dont transfer food to the colony I was told. I belive this as I had one a few yrs back and didnt know to feed each head.
Good info here http://www.melevsreef.com/suncoral.html

I've seen people turn off the flow, blast them with a turkey baster of cyclopeeze, and then put an upside down cup over them. Or put them in a spot where you can pull them out and put them in a cup each day and spot feed them that way... somewhat unconventional, but I suppose whatever works...

What I've seen people do is cut out the bottom of a water bottle, place it around the coral and feed mysis, cyclop, etc. with a turkey baster through the opening of the water bottle. That way you can leave your pumps.

Yep, cut the top off a two liter plastic bottle and use that as a feeding dome.

They do NOT need to be kept in the dark, however, light doesn't benefit them. It also does them no harm. They can be kept under Metal Halides, in direct light, with no negative impact. They do need to be fed every day though...AND every head needs to be fed.

They do need to be fed every day though...AND every head needs to be fed. You can train them to feed during the day also. Juices from your frozen foods will entice them to open up. It might take a few days though. Squirting juices over them, each day, at the same time of day, will eventually train them to open and eat at a specific time. These are not difficult corals to care for, as long as you're willing to do the work.
