Reeflo dart making a lot of noise
I purchased this pump used a couple of weeks ago and used it for the first time yesterday. Just about everytime I unplug it and plug it back in I have to "jump start" it with a screwdriver on the end. That is a pain and has me a little concerned, especially if the power goes out when I'm not home.
That is just one of the problems. The one that is really getting on my nerves is how loud it is. I can't imagine running this thing all the time. Here is a short video, take a listen to how noisy it is. Click for video.

had a similar noise when the bearings went on my Dart's motor. If used and was sitting though, could just need a good cleaning.

The bearings are shot. You can call Reeflo and give them the serial # and they'll tell you if it's still under warranty (3 years).
If not you can try to find an electric motor repair shop in your area to repair it. Make sure to specify that you need the saltwater seals as they'll need to be replaced also. HTH |

I am actually using the pump for freshwater, not sure if that matters or not. Is the reeflo warranty for original purchaser only?

I had warranty on my Dart (bought new) and all they asked for was the serial number. Nothing about where and when I bought it.

The brand of the motor is Fasco, does that help narrow down how old it is by any chance?

if it is out of warranty, bet you could probably pick up some bearings for about $20 and rebuild yourself

I had it running nearly 48 hours to see if the noise went away like it stated to do on the reeflo website. Both my wife and myself (and my dog) have barely had any sleep over the past 48 hours. If anything I think it is getting louder.
Looks like I am going to be waiting a few days to start my cycle.

Reeflo listened to the pump, said the bearings are bad in it. The bearings are not replacable in the Fasco motor so I had to purchase a new pump. It should be here by Friday.
It does suck though, I paid $150 plus shipping for the bad pump.
