Another Refugium Question

In order to supply my DT with copepods do I need a sand bed or can I use cheato and live rock in the refugium? I have all three in my refugium now but I'm fixing to swap over my 30g to a 40g sump/refugium. Curious to see if copepods can thrive in a live rock/cheato enviroment only.

yes they can. I run this way and there are plenty of pods in the chaeto. This is a good way tot do it to keep the fuge clean as well.
