Coral growth and aquamend
Does anyone else notice that their SPS don't like to encrust over aquamend? My encrusting monti's and digi's seem to avoid growing over it. Coraline and other algae have no problem with it, just SPS.

I do notice that any Acro that is held in place by aquamend is slower at encrusting over the epoxy. So far every acro and digi I've attached has eventually encrusted over the epoxy.

My rainbow monti went over it right away. Didn't even slow it down...

I haven't noticed slow growth over it. In fact i've taken frags of my superman monti by using aquamend. Just slap down a chunk near the coral and it covers it right up. the aquamend then peels up pretty easy off the rock.

Mine seem to encrust pretty fast over this stuff. I use this and super glue gel to hold all my corals and they encrust fast.

Hmm, I wonder why mine don't really like it. Maybe there's some sort of curing process in the water?

I've had the same thing with an orange monti cap. It's been about 6 months and it is just now starting to grow over the epoxy and growth otherwise has been great. I def thought it was something with the aquamend.

I have never had any problem with this. All my frags seem to encrust over the frag putty before growing upwards.

All my corals encrust over it like the ceramic plugs or rocks I've been using.

I'd frag it.

I noticed that my SPS encrust over it faster than onto plugs.
