Interceptor / Ich / Quarantine Help!
I'm looking for some quick thoughts on how to handle a sticky situation I'm in. Over the last two weeks, I've been treating for red bugs so I had all my inverts and a few pieces of live rock in a quarantine tank.
A few days ago, I bought a baby tang...not quite sure yet on the species....starting to look like a acanthurus maculiceps so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Anyways...he's currently in the QT tank with the inverts and has developed a case of Ich (I almost put him directly in the display...thank the lord i didn't as I've been there done that). My last interceptor treatment is scheduled for this Sunday and now that all the inverts are in the QT tank with an Ich covered tang...I'm nervous about moving them back...especially considering I've been watching my cleaner shrimp "clean" the new arrival. I'm really at a loss as to what to do next. I was debating about throwing my inverts back in and skipping the last treatment...so that I can treat the tang for Ich sooner rather than later....but I'm lost! My plan was to move the inverts back and treat the live rock in QT for interceptor...but with the Ich appearing....hypo would kill all the bacteria on the rock and sky rocket my levels. Any thoughts?

I would leave the inverts and rock where they are and finsish the interceptor treatment. Move the tang to another tank or bin for qt and cupramine treatment.
As for moving the rocks and inverts back to the display ,there is a risk that encysted parasites may be on them unless you leave these things in a fishless environment for at least 6 weeks.

I was afraid someone was going to say that. So it's best to leave my inverts in QT for 6 weeks now that a tang with Ich was introduced?
The inverts have only been in the tank with the infected fish for around 48 hours. Would I be ok pulling out the inverts now before the Ich has a chance to "fall off" and catch a ride on an invert? I'm sure my wife will love another QT tank being set up!
