Hypo on DT, going well.
Looks like my last post about this was deleted, or purged. I recently had a bad outbreak of ich, and was forced to do something about it. So I removed my cowfish and QT'd her while i did all of the moving, because I knew the tank was going to get ugly. Sure enough the water clouded, and thinks were pretty unattractive for the night.
I removed ALL of the rock, and about all of the sand as well, theres just a little bit getting pushed around the bare floor now. I have slowly dropped the salinity down over the last few days, its now at about 1.014. I plan on going down to about 1.009. Bessie the cowfish is back in the DT, now that everything has cleared up. Everyone still has their full appetite. Its considered Hyposalinity as long as the salt level stays UNDER 1.014, correct? Also, about how long should I do this to ensure that the entire tank is ich free? Until the fish show no signs, and then a couple more weeks? Also, on a fun note. My sixline usually stays to himself, cruising in and out of rocks. Him and my dogface have become quite close these last few days. During nighttime the dogface sleeps in the front right corner of the tank, just on the floor. The sixline has decided a good place to sleep would be snuggled right up under the dogface, and the dogface has become the bodyguard. Everytime someone comes close to the sixline in the corner, the dogface will lunge basically telling them to back off, as it goes back to cover up the sixline. I'll post pictures later, good stuff ![]()

The local hardware store didnt have anything big enough for the copperband, dogface, or foxface, but they seem to be okay... I have 6 powerheads that they hide on, and behind.
