UV sterilizer vs. copepods
Does anyone know if a UV sterilizer will kill copepods/amphipods etc . . .?
I'd like to purchase one for the tank, but need to make sure that it won't wipe out the microfauna population that I have built up. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. |

No, there's not a problem. It's more for aesthetic purposes than anything else. I've heard that they do a pretty good job of keeping your tank crystal clear. Do you have any other suggestions than the UV sterilizer?

no i turned off my uv sterilizer pods still there and my water still clear it does help with algae a little bit but if you control phosphates you shouldnt have a problem with algae i didnt really see the use for my uv sterilizer anymore.
